Sometimes We get some ERRORS in our Windows Operating System but we don't know to how to diagnosis with all those Errors. So we are here with all those silly Errors and with their solutions.

1. Error “Please go to the Control Panel to install and configure system components”
You see this Error when you double click a drive letter (Hard Disk Drive) from My Computer.

You have to delete a file named “Autorun.inf” from the root directory of the drive. Just right click the drive, click “Open”, look for the file “Autorun.inf” delete it. You have to restart Windows after this.

NOTE: The file “Autorun.inf” is used in CD-ROM to launch CD programs, it shouldn't be on Hard Disk Drive.

2. Error “Task Manager has been disabled by your administrator”
This message is displayed when you try to open Task Manager.

Solution

Click Start>Run and type the following command as it is (It will be better if you just copy and paste it): REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableTaskMgr /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
The second way is-
Click Start>Run and then type “Regedit.exe”.
After doing this, go to the following branch: HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies\ System.
Delete a value named “DisableTaskMgr”.
Close “Regedit.exe

3. Error “Automatic server can’t creat object”
The Error occurs when you try to change your User Account picture via User Account Control Panel.

Solution

Click Start>Run and type “REGSVR32SHIMGVW.DLL

4. Error “There was a problem sending the command to the programme”
You see this Error while you are using the “Show Desktop” button in the Quick Launch Bar.

Solution

Go to Zone Alarm program settings and allow Windows Explorer to access the internet or to the Trusted Zone. This should solve the problem.

5. Error “Device Driver for the standard 101/102-key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 error”
The Error shows if Adobe Type manager is installed on your Computer. The reason is incompatibility of certain versions (e.g. 4.0) with the power management features of WindowsXP.

Solution

Update your Adobe with either of the following:

ATM Delux Updater

Windows Vista Error Codes

1. Error “There is no script engine for file extension”
Windows show this Error messages when you attempt to run a Java Script(.js) file.

Solution

Follow these easy steps:

Click Start>All Programs>Accessories and right click Command Prompt. Then click “Run as administrator”.
Type the following command and “Enter”: regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\jscript.dll
Type “Exit” to close the Command Prompt.
Here Download “vista_js_fix.reg” from the “Attachments” section and save it to Desktop.
Now Right click “vista_js_fix.reg” and choose “Merge”.
Click “yes” for the comfirmation.

2. Error “Unable to open .PDF attachments from Windows Mail”
You will see this message when trying to open a .PDF file (received through a mail attachment in Windows mail).

Solution

To solve this issue, you first have to remove .PDF file association (as it is incorrect):

Download “unassoc.zip” file, save it to the Desktop.
Run the file “unassoc.exe”.
Select .PDF from the list and click “delete file type”.
The associated ‘trouble maker’ file is now removed.
After removing it, you have to repair Adobe Acrobat Reader:

Right click on Adobe Reader and press “Run as administrator”.
Go to “Help” and click “Repair Adobe Reader Installation”.
This should fix the .PDF file association. Restart the Windows.

3. Error “Windows Fax and Scan can not run as it can not access your documents folder”
The problem occurs when you try to launch “Windows Fax and Scan”.

Solution

You have to revert back the “Documents” folder to it’s original location, or to a folder which is one level deeper from the Root folder. Follow these easy steps:

Create the destination folder first(deeper than the Root folder).
Click the “Start” button, and right click “Documents”.
Choose “Properties”.
Select “Location” tab and click “Move” tab.
Select the target folder and click “Apply” and then “Yes”.

4. Error “Internal error 2755.110?
This Error pops up when you install the “Windows Installer Cleanup Utility”.

Solution

First, you have to clean the TEMP folder:

Restart Windows – Click Start>Run and type “%temp%” and “Enter”.

Delete Everything in the TEMP folder, ignore all “File in use” alerts.



Try to install “Windows Installer Cleanup Utility” (WICU) now.

Windows 7 Error Codes

Windows 7 is way better than any previous versions. Most of the error you encounter using Windows 7 is during the installation. Lets have a quick look.

1. Installation Error Codes
Error “8E5E03fa” and “80246007? are common errors that occur particularly during an update. You have to try a no-charge call to the Support for this and similar issues. You can get valuable information from this site.

2. Windows Protection errors
When you start Windows, you see an error message(Where device name describes the device you are using e.g. Printer): ”While initializing device device name Windows protection” or when you shut down the Computer you may see “Windows protection error”.

Solution

Follow these steps-:

Start your computer in safe mode.

Boot the computer from an Emergency Boot Risk.

At the “c:” prompt, type scanreg/restore and “Enter”

Select the previous registry you want to restore then press “Enter” (A properly working registry must have the word “Started” next to the date).

After receiving the notification that the registry is restarted properly, “Enter” to restart your Computer.

3. Windows Update Error 646
During the installation of the updates for MS Office (using Windows Update or Microsoft Update), you may see this message. The message is generated by Windows installer and it indicates that Windows Installer have encountered a problem.

Solution

To solve this problem, you have to verify the value of the AppData key in the registry(According to your Operating system).

Start>Search box and type “regedit”.
In “Program list”, right click Regedit.exe, then click “Run as administrator”.
Locate and click the following registry subkey: HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
Locate “AppData” in the details pane of Registry Editor (The value of this key should be: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming).
If the above value is not set, right click “modify” and change the value to: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming
Close Registry Editor.
Try to install the updae again.

Other Common Windows Errors

1. Windows “Error 5?
The error “System error 5 has occured” may occurred while you are running “Net View” or “Net Time” or both.

Solution

Follow these steps:

Verify the correct permissions on the remote host. (by typing GPResult.exe in command tool.)
Open the necessary ports on remote computer.
Verify that the account is active and connected to domain.

2. Windows Error 193
It occurs during the installation or after it. It indicates the corruption or missing of some files.

Solution

Open a command window as administrator.

Click Start>All Programmes>Accessories.
Right click on the “Command Prompt”.
Go to draw down Menu and click “Run as adminstrator”
You will be asked for authorization (your User Account control mustn’t be disabled).
Click “Continue” after inserting the password (if asked).
Start the System File Checker.
Type “sfc /scannow” in the Command Prompt and “Enter”.
You will see the system scan will begin.
The scan may take some time and Windows will repair or replace the corrupt of missing files. It will ask you to insert your Windows DVD. Close the Command Prompt when the job is done.

3. Windows Error 1326
You see this error when trying to download the SR-1 update package for MS Office for updates. The error occurs because of the damaged Registry keys or missing/corrupt settings.

Solution

Re-run the SR-1 update:

Click Start>Run
Type “source path\setup.exe/L2/v”
You will see “VERBOSE” on the first line of text.
Open the Windows Installer Log file by using WordPad and search for Return Value 3.
Back up the required lines in the log file to the line that contains the “Problem” file.
Copy the files listed in the following table from your office 2000 CD into the specified location on your Hard Disk.
Re-run the SR-1 updates with verbose logging enabled.

4. Windows Error 2
This error occurs normally during the computer updates.

Solution

Just restart your Computer and try to install the language pack again and do not interrupt or cancel during the installation. Also check and update any out dated drivers and repair Computer Registry (as described above in the article).

5. Windows Error 126
This error is an application runtime error. It happens when some application on your tries to retrieve information from DLL file but the concerned DLL file no longer exists.

Solution

Restore the deleted DLL file by double clicking Recyle Bin icon on the Desktop, right clicking the name of the file specified in the error and selecting the “Restore” option. This will surely fix the “Error 126?
